Learn how to play the campana or basic cowbell rhythms in this video lesson.
Students will learn how to hold the campana correctly, proper stick placements, basic patterns, clave overlays, and guidelines of when to integrate this hand percussion instrument into various styles of salsa music such as the son, guaracha, guajira and mambo.
The campana is named after the similar bell historically used by herdsmen to keep track of the whereabouts of cows.
